Tanzraum Zug – frequently asked questions about renting in Cham
If you are looking for a dance room in the Zug region, Tanz Raum Zug at Gewerbestrasse 10 in Cham offers a bright, flexible space. It suits dance lessons, movement classes, yoga, pilates, personal training and other course formats – as a single hour or as a regular rental.
Where is Tanz Raum Zug located?
The dance room is at Gewerbestrasse 10, 6330 Cham, centrally located in the canton of Zug.
It is easy to reach by car and by public transport. Cham Alpenblick and Steinhausen Rigiblick stations are roughly 5 to 10 minutes away on foot. The bus stops Cham Gewerbestrasse and Cham Chämried are about 2 to 5 minutes' walk away.
If you come by car, 8 parking spaces directly in front of the building are available. There is further parking at OTTO'S, where the first hour is free and a small hourly fee applies afterwards.
Who is the dance room in Zug suitable for?
The room is aimed at anyone who needs a suitable space for dance or movement classes:
- dance schools and dance teachers
- yoga and pilates instructors
- personal trainers
- course organisers
- people who want to dance or train privately
- providers of movement and leisure courses of all kinds
The room has also been used for language courses, first-aid courses and music lessons, so it is not limited to dance.
How big is the dance room?
The main room measures 62 m² and has a window front with plenty of daylight. It comes with a 25 m² anteroom that can be used as a waiting area or changing room and contains a cloakroom and a kitchen.
This makes the room suitable for one-to-one training and smaller groups as well as for regular course groups.
What facilities does the dance room offer?
The room is bright and full of daylight. The facilities include:
- genuine oak parquet flooring
- large wall mirrors
- sound system with Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- tables and chairs
- exercise mats
- individually adjustable lighting
- cloakroom and kitchen in the anteroom
- toilets
- lift
The lighting can be dimmed or set bright depending on the class. Fans are available for warm days. There are no showers.
How many people can train in the dance room?
For dance classes we recommend a group size of around 25 people. There is no strict maximum – the sensible number depends on the format. Calmer formats such as yoga or pilates fit more participants than partner dancing, which needs more floor space per person.
For one-to-one lessons and smaller groups there is plenty of space. Tell us what you are planning and we will gladly work out a suitable group size with you.
What rental options are there for a dance room in Zug?
You can rent the room by the hour or regularly with a fixed weekly slot.
Regular rental is particularly interesting for dance schools and course providers who need the same room at the same time every week. A room can, for example, be reserved exclusively for you every Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm.
What does it cost to rent the dance room?
Single hours start at CHF 10 per hour. This suits occasional use, such as individual lessons or smaller training groups. Your first booking goes through a short enquiry with us.
For regular rentals, the following monthly rates per weekly hour apply:
| Time | All year | With holiday rate |
|---|---|---|
| Mon – Fri, 6 pm – 9 pm | CHF 230 | from CHF 200 |

Can I book the dance room at short notice?
Yes. For your first booking, get in touch via the contact form, the chat or by phone. We will quickly clarify what you need and what is available. If something happens to be free, same-day bookings are possible too. You can see which slots are already taken at any time in the occupancy plan on the home page.
Once you are using the room and have received your key, we give you access to our online booking system. There you see the free slots directly and book single hours yourself – up to two weeks in advance.
Can I rent a fixed dance room every week?
Yes. Regular rental with a fixed reserved slot is one of our main offerings. The agreed slot stays exclusively reserved for the whole term of the contract.
We put the terms in writing and agree them individually. The contract continues until it is terminated. The notice period is at least 3 months and can be agreed at 6 or 12 months or longer. It applies to both sides – so a longer notice period also gives you extra planning certainty, because the fixed slot cannot be cancelled at short notice.
Can I use the dance room in the evening and at weekends?
Yes. The room is generally available 365 days a year, around the clock – in the evening, early in the morning, at weekends and on public holidays.
When using it in the evening or at weekends, please also make sure the entrance door to the building is closed.
How does access to the dance room work?
You receive an electronic key handed over in person and keep it for the duration of the rental. That way you enter the dance room independently and do not depend on the landlord being present.
Along with the key we also give you access to the online booking system, so you can book further single hours yourself.
Can I bring my own music and equipment?
Yes. You may generally bring your own devices and materials. The sound system is used via Bluetooth. Tables and chairs can be moved around the room as needed.
Not permitted are:
- outdoor shoes on the parquet
- tap shoes
- pole-dance poles
Small snacks and food may be brought along. Larger amounts of waste must be disposed of yourself.
Are drinks available in the dance room?
Yes. There is a fridge with drinks in the room – water and soft drinks among others. You help yourself and pay in cash or by TWINT. Prices are shown next to the drinks or on the fridge.
For children's classes, course providers are asked to make sure that drinks consumed are also paid for.
Is the dance room cleaned?
The room is professionally cleaned every week – floors, mirrors, toilets and cloakrooms.
Broom, mop, cloths and a vacuum cleaner are available on site for smaller cleaning jobs. After use, we expect the room to be left tidy and roughly cleaned if needed.
What do I need to bear in mind when using the room?
Please check the following after use:
- switch off the sound system
- close the windows
- switch off the lights
- close the fridge door
- roughly clean the room if needed
- close the room door
In the evening and at weekends, please also close the door to the corridor and the building. The room should be left so that the next person can use it straight away.
Who is responsible for a course and its participants?
We provide the premises only and are not the organiser or provider of the course. Responsibility for running the course, for its organisation and for the participants lies with the tenant or course provider.
Course providers are not strictly required to hold their own liability insurance, but it is recommended – as it is for participants. The premises themselves are insured accordingly.
For courses involving children, minors or particular participant groups, the provider is responsible for clarifying and meeting the necessary organisational and legal requirements.
What happens if something is damaged?
Please report any damage immediately. Depending on the cause and extent, we clarify together who is responsible for the repair and its cost. Where damage has clearly been caused through negligence, the cost may be charged to the tenant.
Is there a holiday rate for the dance room?
Yes. Regular rentals benefit from a reduced holiday rate covering the entire school holidays of the canton of Zug. The holiday rate applies to the complete school holidays, not to individual weeks. During that period the room cannot be used.
Can I view the dance room before booking?
Yes. The room can be viewed free of charge by arrangement. Ideally at a time when no class is taking place, so that you can take in the size, the facilities and the possibilities at your leisure.
